Denchi Kai Academy attended the Northern Region Championships in Sunderland and everyone did very well, some students came away with medals;
Jade Morrison performed extremely well in her category for kumite and took the medal for third place.

Two teams entered the adult team kata category and both teams came away with medals. The teams were as follows; Denchi Kai A (Cristine Morrison, Laura Smith and Neil Jerome) and Denchi Kai B (Stephanie Lemin, Richard Nicholson and Sarah Billingham) unfortunately Sarah had to withdraw due to an injury acquired in the elimination rounds. Jennifer Stokoe kindly took her place at the last moment and aided the team to take 2nd place! Denchi Kai A took 3rd place.

Denchi Kai also had a team enter the Female Adult team kumite, the team consisted of members Cristine Morrison, Laura Smith and Sarah Billingham. Sarah was unable to fight during the finals due to the injury she had gotten during the elimination rounds, so is not pictured below.
The three took away medals for 3rd place;
