27 students representing Denchi Kai Academy attended the 1st Sunderland Karate Championships ran by Sensei John James Bruce. Denchi Kai Academy students performed very well on the day but unfortunately alot of them were eliminated from the competition in their last kata/fight to get into the finals!
Denchi Kai Academy came away with an impressive 12 medals; club Senseis were very impressed with students, espeically as some were competing for the first time! Well done to everyone who competed; it was a very good day! Also thank you to all the parents and supporters who came along to cheer us on!

In the 10 and under kumite category, Kyle Stoneman and Jamie Allan scored impressive Ippons during the eliminations. Kyle fought extremely well and got as far as the last fight before the finals, Well done Kyle!
